Forest trail photo taken by Joanne McKinnon

Why McFingon? The 4th MacKinnon chief gave  the chiefs the Gaelic patronymic of MacFhionghuinn, sons of Fingon of Findanus, which is now the clan descendants surname.

As proud as I am of being a descendant of Highland Scots who settled in Glengarry in the early 1800’s, my tree also includes other branches. Some I have been able to trace back to France. Also included in the database will be unconnected McKinnon trees of Glengarry. Part of the site will be dedicated to them.
